Qualification & work experience

Two years prior to receiving his bachelor of law degree from the Seoul National University in 1997, Mr. In Jin Chung passed the bar exam in 1975 to practice law. In 1977, he finished his articling at the Korean Judicial Research and Training Institute; in 1980, he finished his military service for the Republic of Korea Air force as judge advocate. In 1982, he served as judge at the Suwon District Court. In 1984, Mr. Chung was transferred to the Seoul Southern District Court to serve as judge. In the very next year, he was transferred to the Seoul District Court to serve as judge once again. In 1987, he entered the sphere of post-secondary education, as he was a visiting scholar of the Harvard School of Law. Then in 1988 upon his return to Korea, he was transferred to the Gangneung Branch Court as judge. Two years later, he left for to the Seoul High Court as judge. One year later, he was appointed as a judicial researcher at the Korean Supreme Court. In 1994, Mr. Chung served as senior judge at the Ulsan Branch Court. In the very next year, he returned to Suwon District Court as senior judge this time. In 1997, he was appointed as senior judge of the Seoul Eastern District Court. In 1999, he served as senior judge at the Seoul District Court. Then in the new millennium, he was appointed as senior judge at the Seoul High Court. Since year 2004 when he left public office for a private practice, he has been working for the Barun Law as a partner attorney. He is also a professor at the Sungkyunkwan University College of Law and arbitrator of the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board.
