Qualification & experience with work in intellectual property rights

Born in Yongdong, Choongbuk Province of Korea in 1953, Mr. Nahm was admitted to the state patent bar in the height of passing the 23rd patent attorney's examination. Spending nearly twenty long years as partner patent attorney for Korea's Central International Law Firm and head patent attorney for H.H. Nahm International Law Firm, Mr. Nahm went through cases of international intellectual property rights; particularly the acquisition and the filing of appeals of and for rights on patents and trademarks; legal proceedings for cancellation action against court rulings; legal proceedings for confirmation on a court decision; and international licensing work.

Domestic & International Activities

He was a member of the Presidential Advisory Council on Science and Technology-a constitutional body run by Republic of Korea President, the head of state (2005 - 2006). He is a mediator of the National Arbitration Forum, member of the Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Committee (ADNDRC) and of the Korean Internet Address Dispute Resolution Committee. He serves as a patent policy advisor of the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and as Co-chairperson of the Trademark Committee of the Asian Patent Attorneys' Association (APAA), composed of twenty member states and two thousand individual members. Mr. Nahm is the Vice-President of APAA Korea -the subordinate arm of the very above international body and the Director of the Korean Knowledge & Intelligence Property Rights Forum. He also serves as the Director of the Korean Industrial Property Law Association (KIPLA). He is currently serving as a member of the following international non-governmental organizations: FICPI, AIPPI, INTA, ECTA, PTMG and MARQUES. He served as the International Director of the Korean Patent Attorneys Association from March of 2000 to February of 2002. Mr. Nahm also chaired the Korean Trademarks Institute from year 1999 until the beginning year of the new millennium.

Presenting at such international conferences as the AIPPI and the PTMG; Teaching at Korea's Sookmyung Women's University in the field of intellectual property rights in 2000; and having instructed in the field of intellectual property rights to individual members of the Korean National Economists Federation's International Business Training Institute since 2000
